    Thanks for fixing it!

    Call me Squinky

I had the same problem but I believe you can still get the same version of the OST at the Scumm Bar without the corruption - I downloaded it a while back and I was able to extract everything with that one. https://scummbar.com/resources/downloads/index.php?todo=MP3

Edit: yep, they're the same :-) Just compared the two - you're right!

Hi there, long time lurker here, but after the CMI soundtrack post I decided to become a patreon :-D That one and the EMI soundtrack were my favourites back then. I love those environmental sounds. When playing them back on well positioned speakers - it’s very atmospheric and eery sometimes!

Oh and does anyone else have problems when extracting these archives? It looks like one song in each archive is damaged. repairs don’t work either :-(

Always liked the EMI music. Not sure what quality the original audio included in the game was, but there was definitely mono and stereo version of everything.

The lawyers theme was one I remember being amazing from the first half of the game and the standout from the second half was definitely the Knuttin' Atoll theme being a minor shift of the Jambalaya theme, along with Memory Returns, Showdown and Transmission Tower being amazing.

Since there isn't a forum yet... Replaying CMI. Just found out you can wash off the tar and feathering in the waterfall (and then must go get tarred again). I always wondered what the point of the waterfall was. I had always hated the long walk over there, even more so when I thought there was no point to it.

Okay guys, I'll play through these games again to refresh my memory. I'm willing to admit I'm misremembering, but if I'm right, be prepared for some strongly worded ToMI OST defense posts when we get a new forum!

    (I'm probably wrong)

    Having recently dunked partly through both games, I’d say I marginally prefer TMI’s OST, technical quality aside. So you’re not entirely alone in this. ;

I have to agree with Rum Rogers that EMI's soundtrack is a lot better than Tales'. I think there was only one song in ToMI that stood out for me in the last episode that reminded me of the Mill theme from CMI - whereas EMI has a whole bunch of strong melodies and some really great compositions by (I believe) McConnell like the Swamp music and the music outside Pegnose's Booty Showcase.

Haha you're right. Nice LA news logo update

Thanks, I made and implemented that in 2014. ;-*

I was afraid of that. I'm sure I had noticed before and perhaps that speaks well of the cleverness that it still succeeds.

Or how rarely we post LEC related news. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's not as strong as the others (including the Telltale stuff, which was actually really good in that department I thought)

We all know EMI screwed things on Monkey Island but... c'mon, ToMI music pales in comparison. You can clearly notice the low budget Telltale had. One thing EMI does well is not looking (or sounding) cheap.

I agree with the budget thing, but I honestly do think a lot of the music itself (and their version of iMuse) was really good in ToMi. A lot of new influences and some really smart choices that fit the environments. I can't speak for the most recent games, but Telltale has always been good at that part of the equation - even their lesser games had really strong soundtracks.

It's been too long since I listened to these soundtracks in detail, but I remember that the EMI music became a lot less effective after the opening areas (which would make sense if I'm right that the composers left the project halfway through, but again, I could easily be wrong about that). But like I said, it's been a long time, and my memory could also be influenced by my overall disappointment with EMI.

Man, I thought I had forgotten everything about this soundtrack, but listening to it now I realize there's more I remember than I thought. It's not as strong as the others (including the Telltale stuff, which was actually really good in that department I thought), but I think I remember something about the original composers leaving halfway through? Not sure about this, time and drink have destroyed my memory.

I can't help feeling slightly nostalgic when hearing the Lucre Island theme. Maybe I should dive into this one again when I have the time. Community playthrough of all the games when the forums are up? Apart from the recent remakes and a bit of Last Crusade a while back it's been years for me since I've done them all.

MI4 isn't exactly my favourite in the series, but the music was excellent. I had some trouble extracting all the files, not sure if the issue is my end or not.

Also I've just noticed the updated LucasArts logo there. Very nice.

Ouch, thought it was a FLAC version!
But hey, it's upcoming, isn't it?

Alas, I'm not aware of one floating around. If anyone knows anything, send us an email, though!
