Feel the force, Lego style 18 Jun, 2005 / Comments: 3
The Summer of Mojo continues with our review of Lego Star Wars: the video game!
No doubt most of you are pretty sick of Star Wars games right now, especially ones that look like cheap spin-offs for children. But wait, don?t throw on the sceptical specs just yet; Lego Star Wars is actually worth a second look. More than a second look, in fact - but to find out more you?ll have to read our review. Remember, you do like Star Wars games... you can go about your business... move along now...
Very fun and relaxing gameplay.
As for content being cut: that's interesting, I didn't know that... I did notice that some key scenes were cut, but I thought that was to do with pacing and that some scenes would be too hard to make into levels. Anyway, interesting link! Here's hoping that they'll release an add-on pack or something. At least hopefully the original trilogy (if they make it) won't be as rushed because there won't be a film release to tie in with...
The saddest thing about this title is that a lot of content has been cut, probably due to the deasline of Episode III in theatres.
I've done some basic modding to view a few of the unused models in-game. You can follow the progress here (PC only, obviously).
Best Easter Egg in the game is the Meco Disco Star Wars / Saturday Night Fever pastiche on Kamino.
