E3 Galore... Sort of 25 Apr, 2001, 03:45 / 22 comments

If you've already visited LucasArts today you've already seen the monsterous, very cool (and very Star Wars) E3 teaser which has temporarily replaced the first page. Additionally, www.lucasarts.com/e3 has been updated with a real web page, promising two game announcements the first and second of May, followed by what appears to be five more at a later date (the additional 5 titles are covered by a slightly clipped off panel). As to what kind of games will be announced, who knows.

Of note is the new slogan this year. Last year's LucasArts E3 slogan was something along the lines of "As long as there are new worlds to discover... we'll take you there." This years appears to be "Never underestimate the power of the force." Who knows though, last years theme reeked of "Original Title" but all were franchise games except one (EMI). Maybe we'll get the opposite this time around (heh heh)?

DAMN YOU! Damn you all! I wanna get pissed at E3 too.

Funny that instead of talking about E3 this thread has turned into (was always?) discussions of the alcoholic tendencies of select Mojo staff.

Tsk, kids of today. *visions of drunken Spaff being deported*

*visions of Spaff trying to update Mixnmojo while hammered, and falling asleep on the keyboard*

He did that when he was at my house last year, except the falling asleep part. Drunkedness rules.

Yes, we all remember that update. It was... nice.
  • Jake on 25 Apr, 2001, 22:34…
Yes lets prevent that from happening again. Heh.

I don't remember that. Did he loop over backwards into good spelling and capitalizing?

May I remind that you're not old enough.
  • Emma on 25 Apr, 2001, 17:52…
But the UK law says 18, and we're both over 18, so yeah.
  • Remi O on 25 Apr, 2001, 18:15…
You are not old enough in the good ol' United States of America. You may buy guns though. Go figure.

The thinking is that it's okay to shoot people if you're sober.
  • Remi O on 25 Apr, 2001, 21:23…
    Right, it's in the constitution.
  • Emma on 25 Apr, 2001, 13:43…
Spaff, we should get drunk in LA. I think you, me, Sarah and Jake are the only ones who drink, however.
  • Jake on 25 Apr, 2001, 22:33…
    I don't really drink either :P
  • spaff on 25 Apr, 2001, 13:21…
:) so then, what are we doing in la besides e3 and disneyland?
  • tabacco on 26 Apr, 2001, 09:06…
Well, if e3 were a month later, I'd say to come say hi to me. I'll be working at the main gate at Disneyland starting in June :)

I was walking to work today and I saw this kid with a SW-themed shirt on. I was, to my surprise, tempted to yell "STAR WARS SUCKS!!" at him. I'm sure it has nothing to do with bitterness about LEC star-wars-o-rama.
  • Trapezoid on 26 Apr, 2001, 16:38…
I just ignore all of LEC's SW games. Seriously, I haven't played one. Well, I've played Pod Racer, but that was someone else's game and I didn't even play it very long... hmm... I also remember playing a Star Wars chess game. Ok.

Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Tie Fighter were all games I enjoyed. Bombad racing looks fun too. Heh heh :)
