Don't try this at home, kids 18 Nov, 2005 / Comments: 19

Ron "Grumpy" Gilbert has emerged from his brief blogging hiatus to link to this, a video of some guy playing 12 SCUMM adventure games in 24 hours. Here?s a quote from a recent interview of the uber-gamer:

"I don't want to make the people think I'm a freak,? says Vogel, about his evident immersion in game culture, ?but when you're listening to music from fifteen-year-old games and painting pictures of Guybrush, Day of the Tentacle and so on, you pretty much have to love that shit, don't you??

I seem to remember a similar video where two other people completed some old LucasArts games in a set time, but that might just be the gin talking. Or not? Answers on a postcard please.

Heh, this was on WMI before Ron posted it, but Mojo doesn't mention it until it's on GG. Thanks Mojo webmasters! :)

GEE, MAYBE WE SHOULD INTERVIEW THEM AND MAKE IT A SPECIAL FEATURE ON MOJO.

Hmm... I have an idea. Maybe we sould interview them and make it a special feature on Mojo. Just a suggestion.

Maybe, but I think the interview I linked to did a pretty good job of that. I can't think of any more questions I'd want to ask.

I emailed Vogel a year ago, and he sent me about 5-6 10MB movies from more LEC Games than those in that video on my Mojo Art site, and also some videos on some LEC painting they had done. But I suck :( Sorry to say I hope I have those videos on a backup DVD, and if I can find it, I will upload them. *ashamed*. But Im happy to see Jorn and Vogel made a new video. *goes locking in the dvd spider farm" J?rn and Vogel rox! :)

What was that super-cool Manny thing he had up towards the end? I must have it... I will have it.
  • Moosferatu on 19 Nov, 2005, 15:38…
Wow, I guess he painted those. Dude, you could make a fortune painting those things and then selling them on eBay.
  • v0g3l on 19 Nov, 2005, 16:13…
wow... I don't think so! Who is interessted in old adventure paintings???
  • Moosferatu on 19 Nov, 2005, 18:10…
The real question is who wouldn't be interested. Old LucasArts fans are kind of suckers for stuff like that. There's even some guy on eBay right now trying to sell the Manny push-doll for over $20. And how many of us haven't bought at least a couple things from the Double Fine store, yet alone just about everything they have...
