Deathspank delayed 12 Sep, 2009, 21:18 / 7 comments

The Hothead Games website has been updated with the team's retrospective on PAX 2009; all good and interesting, but the thing that might concern you is the teensy confirmation that Deathspank's been delayed to 2010ish.

This would mean that Ron has not released a game for the past decade, but you shouldn't worry because Deathspank is actually shaping-up to look pretty interesting.

Ron's posted his thoughts, and so has Tim Schafer. Telltale.

Could it be a hint, that they're all posting their thoughts on PAX? Are they all working on something...together? What could it be? What...could...it...be?

I did spend much of PAX trying to polish some silly joke about how Ron Gilbert had torn the Secret of Monkey Island and given a piece each to Dave Grossman and Tim Schaefer and that the true Secret shall not be revealed until the three of them unite in the same company again... I never did quite perfect that joke.

No game in the past decade? Are you forsaking Putt-Putt again?!?!?

Haha. I'm pretty sure he left in 1999, though.

I believe he left in 2000 after Backyard Baseball 2001 was released. Mobygames backs me!

Was Deathspank ever announced as 'out in 2009'? All I recall was 'Coming soonish' on the website.

The teaser site said "Coming in 2009," yeah.

Yeah, I seem to recall it being "delayed" to 2010 awhile back.
