According to Tim Schafer's Twitter, Double Fine's next, the Halloween-themed RPG Costume Quest, will be yours to play on October 20th, 2010, for 15 smackers. The game arrives on PSN and XBLA simultaneously.

Expect a Mojo review some time this century.

Really? You won't be playing them? I never knew! It's not like you go on about it. All the time.

Yes, well spotted Zaarin. I just wanted to make it clear that I have a genuine reason for not playing them, rather than just boycotting them for not being on PC.

And I am still really upset that neither will likely be coming to the platform that I prefer to buy digital on. Given how few Mojoites actually bought DeathSpank, for whatever reason, I feel it's still a valid comment.

Unlike half of the Mojo community, I'll be playing the crap out of this. Deathspank really wasn't my cup of tea (and I really tried to like it), but this just looks so goddamn sweet. I had my doubts at first, but that Giantbomb Quicklook sold me on the game.

Any word on a european release date?

Yes, it's publishers. This was described as a 'SNES-like' game anyway, wasn't it? If they make a point-and-click that doesn't come out on PC, then you can definitely complain ;-)

I think that DeathSpank fits the PC audience a lot more than Costume Quest, but I'm still cross that both aren't coming out on PC. Consequently I won't be playing either (this isn't me being a stubborn dick, as I am console-less until at least January).

You can play them afterwards though, right? Hey, at least you CAN play them. I have to rely on snippets of gameplay at a friend's house to get my Deathspank fix, as my credit card's billing address is Jordanian, which Sony considers Not a Real Country.

I really doubt it's up to Schafer / Gilbert these days, based on what Gilbert wrote in the (progressively more whiny and ultimately unkind) comments - I mean non-Gilbert ones, of course. Unfortunately, the distribution channels of XBLA/PSN are more likely to generate revenue - not exactly the developers' fault, but if you have to yell at someone, make it the publisher.

Thats it. I don't like Schafer anymore, since he clearly doesn't like PC anymore.
