BREAKING: Future GOG releases will also be Star Wars 22 Jan, 2015 / 3 comments

Hold onto your hats, folks. "OzzieMonkey" in the comments reports that our sassy friends at Rock, Paper, Shotgun seem to know the next three LucasArts games that GOG will give a digital release. Behold what will arrive on the 27th:

- Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
- Star Wars: Starfighter
- Star Wars: Republic Commando

There was apparently a proper press release announcing GOG's latest LucasArts drops, by the way. This is supposed to continue "throughout 2015," so with any luck they'll accidentally include Outlaws or The Curse of Monkey Island at some point.

    Thanks for the namedrop :D
I'll be honest, I'm a bit shat off that we adventure-gamers are left to play the waiting game with regards to when the oldies will be rereleased, but I guess if they're going to be on a Star Wars high until that happens, then at some point we may get Jedi Outcast, and that's one of my favourite games, so I'm not completely SCUMM-supremist :p

Yeah with two "sets" of SW games in this "wave" (or two waves in this set?) of releases, not surprised that they're all Star Wars. Maybe once these are out of their system, they'll do some adventure game waves later on in the year.

And of course, pound-for-pound LEC had more Star Wars in its catalog than anything else, so plain old statistics plays a role in this as well.

The odds aren't good that GOG will sink money into porting over non-PC games, but how cool would it be to get the old Atari games or the good original console titles?
