New European LEC Classic Collections 08 Jul, 2002 / Comments: 13

Just noticed in this thread on the Mojo Forums, which mentions that some new LucasArts classic game compliation packs are headed to France and Germany (and possibly more countries). The new one at Amazon.fr, called (I think) "LucasArts Collector(s) Edition," is 60 ?, while the pack at Amazon.de, called "LucasArts Adventure Pack," is priced at 20 ?. The blatant price difference probably indicates that they're totally different packs with different contents.

According to Das Jan, the Germany-bound 20 ? version is supposed to contain Monkey Island 1, 2, and 3, and Indiana Jones 3, 4, and 5 (which are, to my knowledge, Last Crusade, Fate of Atlantis and Infernal Machine). The contents of the French 60 ? version are unkown to me.

If you haven't played this bunch of games, now's your chance to scoop them all up at once (for cheap, too, if you're German).

But it'll all be german-language, won't it? I remember seing GK1 really cheaply at a german airport, just about buying it before realising that they'd dubbed over Tim Curry in fucking German.

I think they will be German, yes, but it wasn't announced by THQ. I'll try to find out.
By the way: MI 1 & 2 and probably Indy 3 & 4 have very good German translations. They were done by legend Boris Schneider. Today he promotes the XBox in Europe.

I'm sure the translations are astoundingly brilliant and perfect in every way, but this is scant consolation to those of us who prefer a language we can actually speak...

Oh, okay, I prefer english. I bought The Longest Journey in Swedish and it was acutely embarassing.

i have both the German 'Zehn LucasArts Adventures' and the 'Adventure Kit' (indy 3,4,5) packs and they were all translated completely into German. It's fun for collectors but when you dont have the games already its definitly not good to experience these wonderful games in non-english language, especially not in German heh. :P

Anyway I can't say about the French collector pack but I think this new German thing is comletely Deutsch...

Oh, I've played them all. I'd just like to own them too...

(No, not pirating, playing together with a friend who owned them. Best way to adventure.)

the "better" question may be: "Does their page come in the english language?" :) cause its prolly an obstacle course getting through the french ordering pages :)

Hey, I managed to find the delivery conditions and prices in French on Amazon.fr, this should be child's play!
