Begin on March 25th, the Lego Clone Wars will 01 Feb, 2011 / 5 comments

The next Lego game from our friends at TT Games is once again relevant to our news and is looking quite superb, so we can happily say that Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is coming out 25th March. It was originally due out 18th February, but has been delayed for some unexplained reason.

I personally think that it's more than coincidence that this new release date coincides with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo's brand new handheld console. Being one of the only good games in a short launch line-up for an inevitably popular console will mean that people will flock to it (I know I will), but not if they've already bought it on other systems.

The game will be on every platform barring the dead PS2 (so PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, DS and 3DS), and I'm still waiting for them to notice that an iPhone version would be incredibly popular too. We'll try to have a review up around then.

One of the "only good games" of the launch titles? I'm not sure how long I'd consider the list of exciting NDS launch games, but do I know that whatever short list Kid Icarus makes excludes Clone Wars. :P

Kid Icarus is not on the launch list, in fact it'll be lucky to be on the 2011 list. Nintendo's line-up consists of Nintendogs + Cats, Pilotwings Resort (a port of the flying section in Wii Sports Resort) and Steel Diver.

Pretty much every other title on the launch list is a port, so at least this is a brand new game.

    You big critic, you.

Nah. My internet connection speed is wayyy too slow for me to check anything properly (takes Mojo 15 minutes to open), thanks to what's happening in Egypt. Knowing I was visiting Mojo anyways later, I asked.

    1. Do we actually know if it's a good game? Has anyone here been playing it?
    2. Was there a PS2 version in the works?

    1. They've been getting steadily better and Lego Harry Potter was great, plus everything I've seen of it (and I've been paying attention) has me actually quite excited. For a Lego game based on the Clone Wars, so no mean feat.
    2. No, but just thought I'd add it in case anyone still considered PS2 as part of "every platform". You big critic, you.
