Top 20 Adventures Ever? 12 Dec, 2002, 20:24 / 24 comments

Apparently a (bi-)annual thing, Adventure Gamers has started a Top 20 Adventure Games of All-Time list. A new game will be added to the list each day until we get to December 31. The first game listed, game #20, is the LucasArts/Tim Schafer classic, Full Throttle. Click that link to hear what their writer thinks about the lovely FT.

I'd assume that we'll see many LucasArts games show up (and some other favorites I'm sure. After all, LucasArts only made a dozen or so adventures - they'll need to dig out some others I guess to pad the list), so keep a your eye on Adventure Gamers.

Update (Metallus): By day three, we're already seeing multiple LEC titles on this list! Here's how they stand so far:
  • 20. Full Throttle
  • 18. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Yes, that's 2 out of the three total games listed so far. Hopefully we'll see some more of Guybrush and co. in the days to come!

    I'm upset right now, I would be posting on adventuregamer's board right now if I had the energy to get a login, but what is MI2 doing on place 18... mi2 was the reason I really started to play adventure games on my amiga. It was my no. one game of all genres for years until I got hooked on RPGs. It's THE best adventure game (I can accept 2nd or 3rd if Grim Fandango or Indy IV is on top).
    I'm gonna sit in a corner and curse now for the rest of this month. Bye.

    It doesnt matter, monkey island games are my all time favorites, except that game that some people call monkey 4, now that game was a huge let down

    Oh how I wish I could play Full Throttle. My big sisters ex-boyfriend Alan said he used to have Full Throttle until a friend of his borrowed it and he never saw it again.

    By the way check out the Monkey Island Directors cut. It quite funny.

    The first time we did this was two years ago, so it's not going to be an annual thing. The next time we might do a Top 20 will probably be 3 years from now, when new titles could possibly shake things up a bit again.

    I was just told that the last Top 20 was 3 years ago, not 2. You guys are SO INACCURATE!
