Tony Tough Reviewed 10 Nov, 2002 / Comments: 6

We've reported several times in the past about a new 2D point and click graphic adventure called Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths, which was being developed by a small Italian company.

Many previews have compared this game to the LucasArts graphic adventures of years past. Now that the game has been released, those comparisons have carried over into the reviews. Our friends over at Adventure Gamers have posted their own review and discuss these very influences. Here's a quote:
Tony Tough wears the influence of Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max Hit the Road on its sleeves, borrowing heavily from each, even including a purple tentacle in the park's souvenir shop. The cartoonish style of graphics is perfect, and each area and character is drawn with imagination and life. Every part of the game is just gorgeous to look at; nothing is ever dull or bland.
Adventure Gamers gives this game 4 out of 5 stars, so if you long for the old fashion days of graphic adventures, you'll probably want to check this out. Tony Tough can be purchased via links on their official website.

Hi guys I just read the review and it looks great.
I'm in college right now (trying to sneak in shots of Maniac Mansion? and Leisure Suit Larry?) because right now there is no other way for me.

-sigh- Its terrible it really is . The only computer that I can use for internet access is under a lot of problems (this computer belongs to my papa who lives down the road fron me so I have to walk all the way down just for a shot on the internet).
It all started on friday the 25th of october when there was some problem with it (I dont know what because I wasnt allowed to go down and see) which aparrantly was going to get fixed by thursday the 31st.
I was going to go down and wish Jake a happy birthday but the son of a bitch computer had ANOTHER problem so I hear. I was told the computer had been fixed by sunday the 3rd but then it got fucked up AGAIN and the guy who fixed it first time around is ill unfortunately so no dice until my papa says so.

Even worse still I might not be able to go down anymore. My papa might decide that i'm not allowed on again in case I was responsible for the computer fucking up. And my mum said if that was the case then the only other option would be to go to an internet cafe in Glasgow and for me that would NOT be the case.

But dont worry about me I'm sure it will turn out ok.

Heres a link to a Monkey Island? related flash movie.

    Hope you all have fun.

Tony Tough looks promising, but I don't like that none of the backgrounds shown in the AG review seem to have any depth. Everything seems to take place within 3 feet in the very foreground of all of the rooms.

I agree, although the silhouettes of the trees in some of the backgrounds kinda reminds me of MI1. Which is cool.

Great review. I'm looking forward to checking the game out myself.

Thanks for the heads-up. It says "adventuer" in the second paragraph though. But I'm nitpicking.
