Tim Schafer appearing on Jimmy Fallon 16 Sep, 2009, 23:44 / 10 comments

I really haven't been able to process this yet, but apparently Tim Schafer will appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon sometime in early October. I really...look, I just wanted to say that the best thing Activision ever did was drop Brutal Legend. It almost cancels-out that lawsuit. Almost. I'm still boycotting you bastards.

Fallon also interviewed Jack Black, in character as Eddie Riggs, at the VMAs. It's about a third of the way into this video, courtesy of Rolling Stone. Hey, Rolling Stone! Why don't you put Riggs on your cover? Would sure help with forgetting that time you put the Jonas Brothers on! (And a million other things.)

Well, Riggs or Kabbage Boy.

I agree with the Conan love... but is this a first for a video game designer appearing on a late night talk show?

Since when does this happen? They don't even interview directors of animated movies, just the fuckwad celebrity voice actors.

Awesome! But I have to agree it would have been better if he was on Conan.
Fallon just ain't my cup of tea.

Too bad it wasn't during Conan's tenure. This means I'll have to watch Jimmy Fallon :(

I don't watch this kind of thing a lot, but Jimmy Fallon HAS gotten a lot better. I saw the first episode he did and one a few weeks ago. Major difference.

Fallon is only funny when he does the skits, I don't care for the rest of the show.

I do like Conan a lot though. No offense to Jay, but Conan is better. While we're on it, the "old" Letterman was best (Rupert!) :P

This has always confused me. There are all these shows that are all exactly the same but with different hosts. Are they on on different days of the week or do they compete with each other on different channels - how does it work?

These shows are all on five days a week. Right now, if I'm not mistaken, Conan and Letterman are in "competition", on NBC and CBS, respectively. Jimmy Fallon's show is on after Conan's on NBC.

Fallon's up against (the much funnier) Craig Ferguson on CBS as well. And while the shows are theoretically similar, the host brings their own writing team and style to the show, so they end up being pretty different.

Tim Schafer a guest on Late Night? Insanity!
