Telltale has released three new screenshots from the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island, which you can check out in the occasionally not broken Mojo gallery. Sweet.

Im not too familiar with Telltale games, but I've seen some of their work, and bless them for doing what they are doing.
Im an Animator on my day to day job. i tend to look at the visual aspects. all 3 monkey island blew my mind. the third one was and still is a visual master piece. im not too keen about the 3D transition cause it sucked on the fourth MI. Im not too excited about the fifth game design either, but i can live with that. but from the trailers I've seen, the animation looks very simple and generic. the whole "cartoonish" feeling that spread around all three games feels like it got lost here.
in my opinion, this game will NOT survive the "5 years have gone and its still looks great" test. damm, even on today standard it looks old. im sorry i have to open this chest again, but i love this series so much, and part of it was the visual side. I gave the last game a chance, and it just didnt clicked at all.

Plot wise, I just hope they will nail it with this chapter. They should!

I don't believe some people are still complaining about the graphics. These latest screenshots look GREAT.

As much as I love MI. and i love it with all my heart, but visually, this game will look so bad in a year from now... DAMM! ):

I'm not sure I agree. All of Telltale's games have been call dated-looking when they first came out, but because they're more dependent on style and the actual artwork than any kind of technical prowess, they'll probably age well. Not CMI well, but decently. I mean, Out from Boneville was never a mindblowing game in the first place, but it was still pleasing visually. Is it really much less so even 4-5 years later?
