This Sounds Familiar... 11 Aug, 2002, 19:25 / 5 comments

Evan Dickens has written a great new feature for Adventure Gamers having to do with how fans (over)react to upcoming adventure titles. This one hits painfully close to home, folks, but it's all in good fun. Have a read!

In an unrelated (no, really!) bit of news, some of our dedicated fans have been having trouble accessing the mojo forums. That's because the forums.mixnmojo.com subdomain doesn't work at the moment. To get to the forums, click on this whining sound effect: *whine*

I know exactly how he feels - especially now that all these "armchair game designers" (sorry, fans) are griping obout FT2's graphics, lack of Gone Jackals, if it's an adventure, action/adventure, or an action game. Just waiting for a sound demo or a listing of who is voicing ben so people can gripe that it's not Roy. Just sit back, breath deeply and repeat to yourself "Full Throttle II is a new game, not a service pack for Full Throttle I."

Note that people still complain about the Grim Fandango interface. Note that Grim Fandango is 4 years old.

This reminds me entirely of the way fans reacted to that one game and then the next one.

This one pretty much hits the nail on the head.
