They spelled "vampire" wrong lol 16 Oct, 2008 / Comments: 19

Crimson Cow has sent out seven new screenshots from the soon to be released (seems like I've been saying that for awhile now) A Vampyre Story to the media. Check 'em out in our screenshot gallery if you are so inclined and haven't already seen them on a site more diligent than us.

Also, as you might know if you're a regular visitor of the Mojo-hosted The Pumpkin Post, system specs for the game have been revealed. As expected, they're pretty modest, unlike, say, Gabez's mom. Oh man, he didn't even see that coming.

Update by Gabez: Hoho, Jason! (You're fired.) In other news, there is apparently a Special Edition of A Vampyre Story planned, to be released sometime in Germany. Thanks to Sven_Q45 for the tip-off.

Looks like I need to get myself a new video card.

Unbelievable what goes for modest these days.

Those specs are pretty darn reasonable for a game in 2008.

I know. Its the crazy year 2008 that is the problem itself. ;)

2008 was a good adventure year. Wait a while... ;)

The requirements are lower than what I'd call "reasonable." I'm excited to play an adventure game that takes advantage of newer hardware!

But what´s in this special edition?? It costs 20 € (ca 27 $) more than the regular version!

Hmm, let's see... an art book? A soundtrack CD? A plush Froderick? The possibilities are endless. :P

3D renderings of Mona...in the NUDE?

She's not that kind of girl to be posing nude.

    Calm down Gabriel!

A Vampyre Story is what I see as the rebirth of the genre. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

They don't do it for me.

    COUGH heartattack! COUGH

Telltale are just a bit to... corporate. They've been lost in new graphics and standards. SBCG looked like a normal "action game" to me, so have a lot of their games.

I'm probably wrong/ignorant, but they don't do what the old LucasArts do, or even remotely recreate it.

"They've been lost in new graphics and standards."

    What does that even mean?
  • PirateKingChris on 17 Oct, 2008, 21:48…
Have you played the Sam and Max games? They're pretty decent.

"Hey look, it's our old friend [Regular Character]! And what new [hobby/crazy business idea/mid-life crisis] is [he/she/other suitable pronoun] up to this week?"

I probably shouldn't be commenting here, but I think this is a pretty common practice in adventure series. I feel like the MI games did this over the course of a decade, but since Telltale has frequent releases over the course of months, it's more salient.
