Cutting straight to the chase - Bill Tiller has updated the Autumn Moon Blog page with their current status.

It's mostly to do with the new staff members joining the team, but there is a quick encouraging paragraph about A Vampyre Story:

I want to give you all an update on what we are doing and give you some news. First, we are frantically working on all the bug fixes and scripting for AVS1. No firm release date yet but we are getting close and I'm thrilled with the progress.
Interesting how he refers to the game as AVS1, even though I know we've known that sequels are a dead cert. Anyway, I'm excited! And you should be too - A Vampyre Story is nearly here!

"Not 1, not 2, not 3, but MAYBE 4 AVS games!" -- official advertisement.

This game has been in production longer than Indy IV. I want to play it and all, but I can't get excited about it.

Well, there's probably a difference between production and development. You could argue that Indy 4 has been in development since 1989! But the movie was only greenlit last year. AVS has been in "development" since whenever Autumn Moon was formed ~2000. But it's only been in actual production since summer 06. The game will have had about a year and half of full-fledged development by the time it's released, which is pretty normal I think. It was getting these incredibly long-awaited projects rolling in the first place that was evidently so problematic. All the years we were reading about AVS before Crimson Cow came along, the work done on it was apparently little more than Bill Tiller and some friends doing concept art.

I know that, I'm just being a butthole about it.

I am excited for the game, but, Jesus, just release it already.

I'm excited about both this AND Indy IV! And I'm prepared to get excited about Duke Nukem Forever too!
