Telltale to announce new series next week? 15 Jul, 2008, 20:15 / 6 comments

As JP posted on the forums (but not here, for whatever reason), Telltale's appearance at this year's Comic-Con will be where they announce their remaining "mystery license" for which they'll develop a new episodic series:
On Saturday [the 26th], Comic-Con will hosts a Telltale Games panel where the creators will announce plans for a third episodic game series to join their Sam and Max and Strong Bad series.
So keep an eye out for that.

On the TTG blog, the new game's being announced/shown during a session entitled "the Secrets Behind Turning Comics into Games"

What happened to LucasA-- er, I mean, Telltale developing original licences?

Not something they're willing to risk right now. Still building their own fanbase by using existing licenses which makes marketing a hell of a lot easier.

It is something they wish to do at some point, and is in their long-term plans though.

Yes, because just using the Star Wars licence for the first five years is what made LucasArts legendary.

I didn't post it in the news because it was sort of mentioned in Gabez recent "Telltale launches Sam & Max Wii page" article, and there's really nothing to say other than 'announcement imminent'.

I'll race you (all) for the actual license news once the Comic-Con info hits the web, though.
