Sweet power-mad space gorillas misguidedly hell-bent on Earthly destruction, there's a Red Spy in the base! 17 Apr, 2010 / 4 comments

Team Fortress 2, which you may know as developer Valve's excellent team-based multiplayer FPS, has has had a weapons/item upgrade. What makes it weird - and I can't believe I'm writing this - is that it has been updated with weapons and a (let's say) "lagomorph cap" from Sam and Max (oh my lord that's out today). The items will be available to anyone who buys the game in the next week, and to anyone who already owns the game. though it is unclear whether it's for Steam-only customers or for anyone who's bought The Devil's Playhouse for PC/Mac for Steam customers, and ones who own/will own Team Fortress 2, only. Update: As in anyone. Telltale have confirmed that anyone who owns Team Fortress 2 and The Devil's Playhouse from either the Telltale Store or Steam gets the items.

There's also a Mysterious Teaser about "Scoggins Erasers" worth checking out.

I loved every second of Sam & Max, but there's nothing that excites me right now as much as that Scoggings Erasers site. A game in Grickle-style could be one of the best things that ever happened (and the closest Telltale ever came to an original IP, after Hold Em).

God damn, it's almost enough to make me relapse into my ridiculous TF2 addiction. Almost.

Might be a good time to mention the Mojo Steam community which you should make sure you've joined if you're on Steam!

Clarification: It is currently for Steam customers only, yes, and you need Team Fortress 2 to use the hats/guns (obviously), but you don't need to already own TF2 for the promo to apply. Anyone who buys Devil's Playhouse from Steam this week during the promo (or preordered on Steam) gets the unlocks added to their account, and they will showup whenever they next play TF2, no matter how far in the future that is.

It's also pretty cool. I love TF2. I've long wanted to blast some Heavies with the fearsome head of Max - who you may know as Death - donning my lovely head. CRY SOME MORE.
