Starfighter: XBox S.E. 03 May, 2001 / Comments: 12

LucasArts' today announced Starfighter Special Edition, the second title announced in this year's E3-mania. The special edition of Starfighter is coming out for everyone's *cough* favorite console, the X Box. While I'm not personally changing-my-pants excited over this announcement the screenshots do look very nice.

Now that LucasArts is supporting the XBox, versus last week when "Dreamcast is no longer being produced. X-Box is not yet available. That leaves the PS2" (said EMI leads Mike Stemmle and Sean Clark) will we be seeing an EMI XBox port after all?

One is going to have to do with the MMRPG Galaxies and the other will probably be the other rpg being developed by BioWare (Baldurs Gate). But there also appears to be approxamtley 5 more announcments.

Jeez, everyone just needs to chill. They have two more announcements to come. What do we have so far? Battlegrounds is basically just a modification of Age of Empires developed by an outside company, and another is a pre-existing game being ported to another system. Neither will take up a lot of LucasArts' manpower. I predict that the next two announcements will be 1. some kind of Indiana Jones action game for consoles, and 2. a new adventure game, probably a sequel to something...

I have yet to play starfighter but you have to admit its pretty visually impressive. Of course, it was more visually impressive (relatively) last E3 when it was announced for the PS2 ;)
