Great story, mood, character interaction and whatnot, but I thought the actual gameplay side falls a little short this time, without any really memorable puzzle or scenario (except for the first scene, and a couple of other exceptions)

Agreed on both accounts.

Just finished. Man, that was terrific, even better than the already-great first. Can't wait for more.
One thing I can think to comment on: when Hardtack and Trenchfoot briefly play their number-guessing game, the two numbers they choose are 27 and 42, two of my favorite numbers. Not sure if this is what the writers intended, but 42 is obviously important to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and 27 may be a reference to the famous 27b-6 form from Terry Gilliam's Brazil (at least, that's what it means to me.)
Like Kroms said in his review, all the supporting cast was really great in this episode, which is wonderful since that was one of the biggest criticisms of Screaming Narwhal. Telltale's best work yet! Keep it comin'!

27 is Weird Al's number... it's on most of his albums...
