Season 1 DVD now shipping! 19 Jul, 2007 / Comments: 8

Well, mine did. If you ordered Telltale's disc, check your inbox, because yours ought to be as well. Telltale also predicts that the soundtrack should be available for shipping in a few days, and that mysterious Case File at the beginning of August.

In other Sam & Max-on-a-disc news, Telltale has put up a list of what stores you can expect to find the retail release in on their blog. You might notice that EB Games/Gamestop aren't listed here, and you also might have noticed that the Sam & Max product pages simply disappeared from their respective web sites awhile back, so I'm not exactly sure what became of that crazy strategy guide offer. In any case, you should have no trouble finding the game once it's out on store shelves in just a few weeks! (And really, when's the last time you could say that about Sam & Max?)

Is there anyway to tell whether it's shipped besides via email? On the Telltale website I just get confirmation of ordering, not any note about shipping (all my orders are like that).

I thought EBgames and gamestop were two of the biggest video game retailers in the US? *sigh*

Not really. Best Buy/Wal-mart have really taken the sales, I believe. Though, I still like to check the EB Games store in the mall once in a while (I've found some great deals such as $8 Rebel Assault II PSX and $8 BS1 PSX).

I've posted an update about the oh so mysterious case file here on the Telltale forums, with pics!

It's also worth noting that I saw two copies of the original Sam & Max in Virgin in Oxford yesterday, in the shiny purple case that we first saw from the Entertainment pack. I'm sure this is the case in a lot of European stores. Makes me wonder how well Hit the Road is selling. Telltale's recent work has almost certainly boosted the sales for LucasArts.

    Or Activision.

I whine about this a lot, but none of Hit the Road's appearances across Europe is LucasArts' doing, as far as I know. Only if you see Hit the Road in the US or in the company store (which hasn't happened in many years) is it LucasArts selling it. Its European distributors are smart enough to know that they can make a bit of money off the adventure games overseas (where admittedly they probably sell better), but LucasArts hasn't touched those titles in years.
