Schafer, Fallon, Tonight 03 Oct, 2009, 14:42 / 20 comments

There's little to say - we've already reported it, and now the date is confirmed: TONIGHT.

What a weird graduation for us all. If one of you doesn't record this, we're closing the site btw.

Update: Site remains open.

My heart was warmed by the genuine recognition Fallon seemed to have of Psychonauts.

Yeah, he actually seemed kind of stoked to be giving that Schafer dude an interview. Pretty cool.

    Fallon knows.

I mean, I know he has gotten some crap for replacing Conan, but really, he's a funny guy who proved in his SNL days he had his geek-y sides. (And was constantly funny there.)

Now if he can get Monkey Island fan #1, Elijah Wood, in, and... Mojo could give place to Fallon. Heaven forbid.

Even though I don't laugh much at Fallon, I find him very watchable because he's the complete opposite of annoying. He comes off as just a nice, sincere guy.

    What's a Fallum?

On DFAN (see source) there's an image of Schafer being interviewed by someone from the show. Hopefully this will reduce the likelyhood of Fallon treating Schafer as 'nerdy game developer' or something, and not letting him get his funny side across.

I got the idea that Fallon is pretty 'nerdy' himself. I haven't seen his show but videogames seem to be his thing that differentiates his show from the other talk shows.

Does anyone know if this is actually the first time that a game developer has been on a mainstream talk show? The guests are usually actors, directors, sportspeople etc... I think this might be something really great.

Go Tim! Almost everyone of us is rooting for you!

No, Fallon has had game developers on several times now, and also at one point Will Wright was on the Colbert Report. Also, Conan had a Beatles Rock Band demo a couple of weeks ago (although the guest was george harrison's son, not an actual developer).

This is too awesome for words. I feel all...man. I can't even imagine you old school guys must feel. All proud and such.
  • Gabez on 02 Oct, 2009, 13:37…
    Yeah, I don't really care.
  • Remi O on 02 Oct, 2009, 14:17…
I mean, had it been Conan...

But I did set my DVR, so yeah.
  • syntheticgerbil on 02 Oct, 2009, 14:50…
Conan is too important now for games!

Anyways, I hope this is on the old youtubez.
  • Kroms on 02 Oct, 2009, 14:19…
Well, you know. You can't have everything. This *is* pretty cool.
  • Kroms on 02 Oct, 2009, 13:46…
    I know you don't.
  • Gabez on 02 Oct, 2009, 14:37…
I know I know you don't. And I don't care about that either.
