You've been waiting for this since the first time you heard that Telltale's reviving the Sam & Max franchise as an episodic game series, and here it is!

Gamespot reports that Telltale's confirmed that the first season of Sam & Max is heading for Nintendo's Wii this fall in both North-America and Europe.

Update: Gamespot posted a video interview with Dan Connors as part of the news story, but their link to it on the main page appears broken so if anyone didn't notice the video see it here. Dan reveals some significant news such as that their Wiiware series will be announced next week and will indeed be a launch product for the service. (May 12th.)

the wiimote would be very annoying..cause its very temperamental and selecting the dialogue would be pretty hard

I imagine they're going to make the dialog lines a tad bigger. If you compare the dialog trees from CSI3 and CSI4, the CSI4 text are a lot larger complete with background bars for each line, obviously for consideration for the versions of the game that would be displayed on TVs.

Plus it's not that bad anyway.

yeah thats good if its bigger..that would really be the only issue for the wii release for me

Yeah thats awesome, hopefully we can get the second season on the Wii without too much delay.

I'm one of those bastards that, while thinking episodes are cool, still would rather sit down and play em all at once rather than a little here and a little there. So season 2 is still a mystery to me, and I think I'd rather play it on the Wii.

    Yes.

Also looking at that Wii gameplay footage makes me think they should bring back Sam's hand as the cursor for the console version rather than carrying over the now out-of-place mouse cursor. Maybe that's just me wanting a Hit the Road reference though.

The interface is going to change for the Wii version. It just hasn't yet, hence the PC interface appearing in the video.

I also see season 1 in widescreen on that monitor. I hope they'll add that to the PC versions for us with wider monitors... It looks nice. :)
