Sam & Max 360 22 Jun, 2009 / Comments: 13

Remember the days when we updated features at Mojo about once every two years? Those days are apparently long gone, what with another review, this time of the Xbox 360 version of Sam & Max: Season One: Save the World.

Oh just read it.

Almost played all the way through it, on Episode 5 right now. Pretty great so far. Fills me with hope for Tales of Monkey Island!

Bugs are annoying but not enough to detract from how great it is. The framerate stutters are very rare (but almost always on the first exit from the office). And I have experienced no sound stutters other the rare odd line being dropped (subtitles fix that). The most annoying issue I have experienced is when Sam kicks Max and there is a horrile sound crackle before Max goes "wheee".

    I'd give it 8.5/10

I've played the demo and it played awfully. There was sound stuttering all over the place. Glad that's better in the main game, but anyone else get that in the demo?

I can't wait for the console players to get their hands on season 2.. its so much better than season 1 in my opinion..

Guess it doesn't have those low res textures that made the Wii version unplayable...

Nice review! I'm shocked out the bugs, though. What's that all about? Hopefully they'll fix them soon.

Great price, too! (Or at least it seems it considering that it's the same price at Watchmen or Penny Arcade: Episode 1!)

The one thing I was wondering is if it's possible to patch Arcade games through Live. If so, I really hope that'll happen.

It is, both castle crashers and SOTN have had major bugfix updates since their release so it should be possible

    Information overload! Ahhhhh!

You know it is useful that there is a notice about the score belonging to the Xbox version.
I'm only saying it because the PC version got the same score.

In retrospect, like I said, I think S1 should have gotten a higher score. Particularly ep 1 (which I reviewed) and ep 3 (if only for Max's "death" scene) deserve higher scores.

Nah, I stand by my one at least. Got some great moments, but overall it's the weakest. Episodes 2, 4, and 5 were great though, and 1 I think you scored pretty fairly.

    Heh :D
