PC Gamer UK is at it again. Arguably, they've been hit and miss with their LucasArts predictions, so you never know, but take this one with a big fat grain of salt: According to The Scumm Bar, the latest PC Gamer UK has started up Monkey Island 5 rumors yet again:
"LucasArts informers let the monkey out of the bag: there is, apparently, a fifth Monkey Island game in production. The adventure genre continues to cheat death."Yikes. Or perhaps, Hooray? I'm sure you guys will feel one way or the other about it. There's also an obligatory blurry scan (and good scan) from the issue of PCG, if you need proof.
Mixnmojo has interviewed Simon Jeffery the last three years at E3. The first two years he said that there was "no doubt" that there would be more Monkey Island games.
Last year's interview, which we didn't ever publish because he resigned during our downtime, we asked him again about Monkey Island 5. If I remember right, he said something like, "Ask me again next year."
Of course, he may have just been telling us what we wanted to hear... or after he resigned, if there was a game in the works, it might have been scrapped. Or maybe MI5 is actually in production and we'll find out about it in May.
Weee, speculation is fun.
Also do you reckon that, pressuming this rumour is based on fact, we will hear about it in May? How early do LucasArts announce their games?
PC Gamer are much less fun but probably more reliable, and this one *seems* to be more than mere speculation. That said, even if Mi5 is in production there's no guarantee that it'll ever see the light of day.
Or just making up the numbers in the comments. :(
Bring on the point 'n click. Navigating GF and EMI with a gamepad is like playing URU 2: Basket Kicker!
Maniac Mansion 3! Maniac Mansion 3! Maniac Mansion 3! :-)
With that said, PC Gamer is known for... making speculations... at times.
And as the Voodoo lady said QUOTE: UNBREAKABLE FIVE GAME CONTRACT : UNQUOTE
Lets break this shit!
