Psychonauts 2? 18 million, please 04 Feb, 2013 / 4 comments

Remember when Notch said he'd maybe fund a Psychonauts sequel last year and then nothing more came of it? On Saturday, he revealed that the actual cost for such a game would lie in the vicinity of 18 million dollars, far beyond the "couple of million" he initially thought it would cost.

    Even IF it takes that much, can't Notch afford it? Know he likes to donate to charity - so what it some of the proceeds went to the charity of his choice? Humble Indie Bundle, Mojang style.

    Wait, did it go up by another five million? I remember reading Notch's initial freak-out over finding out what sort of pricetag Schafer was looking for last year, and recall it being set at about thirteen double-large?

    Lets set another kickstarter record, I'd buy that a few years early via kickstarter, I love that game.

    It certainly doesn't sound like Psychonauts 2 is off the table at least, just not a near-term consideration. Double Fine seems to have plenty to keep itself busy while the capital for another outing with Raz hopefully comes together.
