No season DVD for Law & Order? 02 Feb, 2012 / 5 comments

A few Telltale forumites observed that, unlike previous Telltale seasons, the PC/Mac release of Law & Order: Legacy episodes did not come with information about the traditional end-of-season DVD. Sure enough, customer service rep Michael Parks replied with this:

While this may be something that changes in the future, as of right now, there are no plans to release a DVD at the end of the season.

That's kind of interesting simply because I think it's a first. Is this a new trend, or does Telltale simply figure that Law & Order fans won't miss the perk of a collector's disc as much a fans of more geeky licenses (aka all their others) would?

First episode is now free on the App Store for a limited time, I'm getting it and if I like it I will consider the PC version

Diduz, they said that right now there are no plans for a standard DVD edition of JP.

I totally missed that. I hate this thing, being forced to go through all forum threads just to get some basic infos. I wish they were more straightforward in these things.

I concur that L&O is better than CSI... even with that low budget it has a better gameplay.
I understand that they don't rely too much on dvd sales - but still don't know why they're discriminating some of their products for the DVD release (Hector would be great sold as a season DVD, IMHO).

They're also kind of elusive about the Jurassic Park standard dvd case edition. The expensive Deluxe edition is the only one available, if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway, Law & Order Legacies feels like a really-low-budget production: no celeb voiceovers, almost no environments. I still think the game is better than their CSI stuff, but Ubisoft money surely was a plus.
