No Vampyre 'til 2008? 11 Sep, 2007, 14:29 / 14 comments

Though it's hardly a credible source, I've noticed that many sites and online retailers are listing A Vampyre Story as coming out in January 2008. When the internet lies about release dates it's traditionally to make them earlier, not later, than expected.

So I shot Crimson Cow an email and was told that "we will release early 2008 in Germany, and in USA as well." D'oh!

Ah well. Maybe when it became clear that the game couldn't make a Halloween release they decided to push it to next year to avoid pitting Mona against the unholy AAA terrors of the Christmas season. Or maybe it's just delayed. Not to worry though, we've still got Battlefront PSP and Thrillville 2 to end the year on a high note!

    No, we are just trying to get our tech worked out. So we brought in soem new programmers and they need four more months than the orginal scheduled called for. That is the reason. Art is on schedule though.

    Honestly? I prefer them to take a little more time and to make it really good, than to release something unpolished or even full of bugs.

    P.S. And I know that this is the standard statement for justifying delays, and that we all are tired of hearing this argument over and over again. But that doesn't make it less true. On the contrary, I was even afraid that Crimson Cow and Autum Moon, both being quite small companies, might have been forced to publish the game around November in order to survive financally.

    I sure hope so. And a PSP version would also be great. Maybe a DS version too, and a Wii version? Heck, why not?
