Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent now out for PC/Mac! 01 Jul, 2010 / 3 comments

Telltale has lived up to their promise of a June release for their first "pilot" game, Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent, which is now available for PC and Mac. Folks who pre-ordered should have their email by now, and while waiting for your download to complete you can check out the corresponding blog entry where Telltale has rounded up some additional reviews so we don't have to.

The WiiWare, iPad and iPhone versions of the game will be released in the near future.

It's fun. I love the atmosphere, artstyle, voice acting and music way more than the puzzles though. While some (or most, I guess) puzzles are fun to solve, there are a lot of them that where a little bit vague. I had a few moments where I didn't know what the game expected from me. I also think the ending is a bit of an anti-climax. I love the rest though. I like that Telltale is trying out new forms of gameplay (even if it's not entirely perfect this time), and I love the Grickle-world. Slightly more serious than Telltale's usual games, which makes for a nice change. I'd love to see a monthly series with Nelson, although I don't know if I can be entertained by these puzzles long enough.
