Nabooooooooooo 25 Jan, 2001, 09:32 / 13 comments

In this article on IGN states that LucasArts will be porting the n64 game "Battle for Naboo" to the PC.
This I assume is the first of their game anouncements, but is also the first game anounced for the PC since the scrapping of OBI WAN. Perhaps fans of the Starwars Universe can be a little bit happier now.

This port will be available pretty soon and will feature better resolution, graphics and menu system. w00t!

Ohhhh boy. Another star wars game. I was getting worried for that whole series. I mean it's not like there not enough adventure games out there for the rest of us lucasarts fans. Wait whats that? They dont seem to care as much for adventure games as they used to? thats too bad. i loved them and i still do. hmm i was kinda hoping at least one of their new games is an adventure game to look forward to. i hope im wrong and their will be.

Oh, god... it's not like this is "another atar wars game" anyway. It's the SAME game being ported. It's hardly the death of the adventure gaming industry.

Before you say a game is crap, it's a good idea to play it first. Battle for Naboo was really good on N64, so I can't imagine it going sour on PC.

True, I haven't played the game, but with 987 Star Wars games that were announced since the reorganization of Lucas Arts, it is hard to believe that ALL of them are top-notch.

In the statment about the cncellation of OBI-WAN it said that they were trying to make their titles of a higher quality. I could be wrong but this looks to not be as high quality as OBI, since they have already spent about four years working on that. How long did this take, half a year?

...Like I said. Screw them. Distilled materialism sucks--that IS the only point of all these crappy Star Wars games. I'm waiting for some news from the Schafer camp.

From the relatively low detail of the textures in those screens on the game's site you can tell that it was originally made for a lower end system. Hopefully they're polishing up some of the low-end-for-console (like the terrain) textures as we speak :)

I'm rather happy... the game looks good, and I don't have (and don't plan to buy) a N64 or any console for that matter.

Is there anyone else but me who wants to make a Lucas Arts hate site??? Did George finally realize that people are willing to buy games for a lot of money? Seems so. I'm afraid that the priorities of the company are coming to be "throw out as many Star Wars games," first, because George needs some allowance, then "port them to as many platforms possible," then "how about quality?... Nnaaaaaah!" As of now, I'm becoming a Blizzard fan just out of protest!!! #@&$#!$#!!! I WANT SOMETHING ORIGINAL!!!!

Perhaps Star Wars fans will be happier now? Sure, why not, it's not like there isn't enough Star Wars games out there as it is...
