Monkey Island Galore 01 Oct, 2000 / Comments: 5

Lots of great EMI news, Firstly LucasArts have organised an online chat with Sean Clarke and Michael Stemmle; The chat is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th from 6-7pm PST. The chat room will open around 5:30pm so you can hang out with other Monkey Island fans and send in some questions before the event begins.

Right also Amazon are doing a great deal whereby you preorder EMI and get Grim Fandango FREE!

The EMI Demo is set to be released this friday (October 6th) the demo is 116mb download, and 130mb installed.

Finally LucasArts Insider newsletter brought us a look at the EMI box art, although it was apparently an exclusive, this box art was seen a few days before on Amazon.com. See below.

Wow I didnt even notice that his expression is a bit different in those two covers. Hah! I still dont think he looks like guybrush. For a game with such a set character style they all sure look different than they do in game, especially Guybrush. With the first two games something like that would be easy to get away with, since the heads were only like 20x20 pixels, but this is borderline.

Mm, well, I like the first Guybrush's innovent/suspicious kinda look better. The second one is better quality, though, of course.

He doesn't look mean.... He looks overconfident, which is fine considering his personality, but he doesn't look mean.

I kinda like the first box's Guybrush better. Not as mean looking.

Ooh... the real official (for now) box art is much better than the Amazon one. Guybrush looks an intrepid adventurer, rather than a braindead wuss. :-)
