Mata Hari really out in North America now, FYI 30 Jul, 2009 / Comments: 8

While they seem to have removed the game's individual product page, the Mata Hari/Sherlock Holmes combo is now in-stock and shipping from Amazon. I doubt $19.99 is any more than the game would be sold for individually, so if you're interested in the game go buy.

It's available on Steam now, too--by itself, not in the combo pack with Sherlock Holmes. Oddly enough it's also twice as expensive; they want $39.99 for it. ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/18480/ )

On an unrelated note, did anyone see the trailer for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie? Since when is Sherlock Holmes some sort of James Bond on acid action flick?

    Since the books. Seriously.

There's this image of a boring British geezer, but Holmes was always a fencing, boxing sleuth with a cocaine habit. Not acid, but close enough.

Have you actually read the stories? Out of the 60 or so of the cocaine is mentioned in about 2 or 3, boxing in 1, swordplay in 1 and martial arts in 1.

These are hardly well established traits.

Of coure I haven't read them - I'm just midlessly repeating opinions I've read on the Internet. Duh!

Ah, but this is Guy Ritchie. I think we can allow him his own interpretation of the license.

Yeah. It looks like an utterly mad interpretation, and that's good enough for me.
