Like Star Wars, Gaming and LEGO? 04 Jun, 2004, 18:13 / 7 comments

After knocking out the occasional Harry Potter LEGO computer game, it appears that the Star Wars LEGO franchise is finally in for similar treatment.

Discussion on the From Bricks to Bothans Forums. has revealed that a Star Wars game is in the works "Erlebe, wie Anakin Skywalker zur Dunklen Seite der Macht wechselt. Ab Sommer 2005.", and indeed "Opplev hele historien om Anakin Skywalkers fall til Den m?rke siden. Kommer sommeren 2005."

So, hooray! Except if you don't like gaming. Or Star Wars. Or LEGO.

Or if you own a GameCube.

I'm not actually too bothered that Lucasarts games won't be gracing the Gamecube anymore, as I wouldn't want their immense mediocracy to tarnish my purple box of joy!

This isn't actually a "LucasArts" game.

I knew once I posted this that somebody would eventually notice that I've made a slight gaff. However, no matter! The point still stands...

Why would it be a joke? There are a bunch of Harry Potter LEGO games, Bionicle LEGO games etc.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that LEGO games are aimed at the target demographic of Star Wars LEGO toys. ie. 8-12 year old boys.

You're seriously not going to get pissed off when the game comes out and it doesn't have the depth of KOTOR, or even the Jedi Knight games, are you?

Personally, I think it looks like a good (cutesy) laugh, and I'll definitely check it out when it's released (but then, outside of computer games, my only other Star Wars 'habit' are the official LEGO sets).

Harry Potter LEGO games?? I didn't even know those existed.
It sounds silly to me to make a game with visual appeal of LEGO blocks, but then again I'm not in thetarget audience.

I'm sure if I were 10 years younger I'd find it awesome. or hilarious. whichever is easier.
