Lego Indy II rumoured... again 23 Apr, 2009 / Comments: 12

I don't know if this even counts as 'news', but Eurogamer are suggesting that TT Games' may be doing Lego Indiana Jones II. They suggest that it may contain levels from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Shocking stuff, I know.

Eurogamer then went on to suggest that Double Fine may be working with Jack Black, that Ron Gilbert may have a new game based on his character Deathspank in development, and that there is a strong possibility that the sky is blue.

jp update: Yeah, so the LEGO Rock Band game (see comments below) was confirmed, and the 'LEGO Indy II' game's existence was leaked at the same time, so...

    Hopefully when they make LEGO Indiana Jones II it will be a complete game instead of a "LEGO Indiana Jones - The Complete Adventures" with the first game plus some Crystal Skull levels. If they need other source material to base levels off on, they should look to Fate of Atlantis, comics, and other expanded universe stuff.

    And they can re-release FOA while they're at it.

    I haven't yet played it, but I think LEGO Batman was all-original storylines. I wouldn't mind if TTGames wrote their own IJ plot for the non-KOCS levels.

    LEGO have quietly dropped the Harry Potter license, so there's no way there will be a Harry Potter game forthcoming as the eurogamer article suggests.

    The Lego Rock Band idea sounds like a baseless rumour (thankfully).

    I'd quite like a game based on an original LEGO line, like maybe the nice new Pirates theme.

    I can't see how Lego Rock Band would work, but it would certainly sell despite being arse.

    I didn't know about the Harry Potter thing, but that would explain a lot. With Warner Bros owning the studio it's surprising a lot of people that TT Games aren't doing Lego Harry Potter.

    Well, the being arse is still a possibility.

    Also, in another recent Eurogamers article;

    "Smith also told us of plans to release a new LEGO title in 2009. Significantly, TT Games boss Tom Stone revealed that it's not going to be Star Wars, Indy or Batman, but something completely new."

    "Rock Band" is NOT completely new, Mr Stone.

    The number of Indy movies that didn't suck tentacle bullocks.

    Fate of Atlantis beats all Indy movies anyway.
