LEC Quick and Easy 3.5 02 Sep, 2002, 13:24 / 21 comments

There's a new version of the popular software, LEC Quick and Easy available with several new features, including support for the CD version of Loom. For those who haven't heard of LEC Q+E, This program was written by bgbennyboy, and helps people running on NT-based OSes (Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP) play classic LEC adventures with full audio and music. Grab it!

Update: There's also a new version of ScummVM Quick & Easy available for those of us with Windows 98/Me.

Can someone help me out with a problem?

I'm confused about this program and would like to use it to play my Sam & Max cd. I have windows 98, so which program would be the best for me to download and where could I do that?

    Thanks in advance.

    Once again, ScummVM :) http://scummvm.sourceforge.net
And if you don't like command-line interfaces, you can use a GUI : ScummVM Q+E (see right above) or Scummer(http://domfree.de/trin/).

Where can you get the talkie version of loom?
  • bgbennyboy on 03 Sep, 2002, 12:11…

Is there a version for Win 95 that would run Full Throttle with voice and sound? How easy is this program?

Why the heck would you need LEC Q&E with Win95? LEC games works quite well with Win95, unless you have a cheapy integrated soundcard on your motherboard...
  • jmartin on 04 Sep, 2002, 14:09…
My computer's sound card isn't recognized my any of the older games - also it doesn't have any dos drives so a boot disk is useless

Also my old computer's sound card is messed up so it constantly freezes.

Then I think that anything would help :) You should really consider buying an old SB16/SBPro from eBay. I've used Win95 and SB16 with any LEC game even with AdLib sounds.

I actually picked up an old SB16 from a computer that got dismantled - the only thing is I don't have any software, etc. to install it - is that Ok? Can I just plug it in and have the computer set everything up or do I atleast need some manual? Also - can you have two sound cards at once - I really don't want to unistall my other one since it works fine for all game that require 16-bit sound cards such as MI3, Outlaws, Grim, etc.

Drivers can be downloaded, 2 soundcards 'can' work but it can be trouble. Remember problems like this can always go in the help section of the mojo forums where someone (read probably me) will help you out.

What do you suggest? Which site should I go to in order to get the correct drivers? Thanks.

  • bgbennyboy on 03 Sep, 2002, 02:02…
    Instruction/help
Look at one of the 3 places where it says support in the readme.

And if you like any of the utilities make sure you vote for Fat skeleton dude from CMI in the mojo poll. If nothing else it'll irritate Jake, thats reason enough surely?
