LEC Nice and Easy 06 Feb, 2002, 16:33 / 7 comments

Tonight to round off all the Starwars news, we have a nice download for you boys and girls. Bgbennyboy has created a quick fix to get LucasArts adventures working in WinNT, Win2k and WinXP. The file is 80kb and uses VDMSound. So far supported games are:
Fate of Atlantis (White Label talkie cd version)
Last Crusade (White Label cd version)
DOTT (While Label talkie cd version)
Full Throttle (Original cd version)
Sam and Max (White label talkie cd version)
Monkey Island 2 (White Label cd version)
There are some untested games, but you should read the attached readme for more information. I have been unable to test this fix because right now one of my CD drives won't close and the other one won't open! So we would appreciate some feedback on this. Remember, its not supported by LEC. That's all folks!

Dott and indy CD's won't work for me. The rest is fine.

Lucastones, my default fix all for sound in those games in win95 was to restart in msdosmode and run the imuse setup or whatever from there. This definately worked for me with Sam and Max and DOTT.

lucastones, what soundcard do you have?

i could get many lucasarts adventure games to run in win98 (probably 95 too, but I can't remember).

Sorry, it only works with NT4 2000 or XP. I could have included the vdmsound executable with it, but many people already have it (besides its only about 900k)

do you think this will work if you have sound problems with these games in win 95?

Very cool, sound is something I never thought I'd have until i re-installed a 9x-based os, so i could install real-mode drivers.

One thing though, that file doesn't actually have the vdmsound executable in it (just a shortcut), so I had to download it from the actual website. Just thought I'd better bring that up...
