Interview with Bill Tiller 05 Jul, 2006, 01:41 / 8 comments

Check out this interview that Adventure Advocate held with Bill Tiller about A Vampyre Story. Although it's mostly stuff you've read before, Bill does share a few thoughts about LucasArts and the industry's general adversity to creativity. Also, it appears as though Autumn Moon's publisher may very well be German, but you knew what I meant. ?

Ahh, what a great interview. I really hope it's plain sailing for Bil & his team from here on in, and that the publishers have a crack marketing team who can do Vampyre Story the justice it deserves.

shit, sorry. my eyesight is week, I don't read mojo like I once did. Maybe I was expecting a fresh news post for that one. I'll be sure to read all of mojo before posting next time.

I for one am very grateful that Bill and co. are working on A Vampyre Story. I really miss (preaching to the chior, I know) playing and relishing old-school point-and-click adventure games. I can never get enough of those, especially the good ones.

As much as I love new ideas and directions, like Psychonauts, at the end of the day, they still don't fill the void left by LucasArts and Sierra classics. Jumping sequences and action elements do not for an adventure game make...I'm glad to read that Bill (and more importantly, another development house) feels the same way.

Puzzles and story. Puzzles and story. Puzzles and story. (and characters...and...music) Puzzles and story.

I probably should have mentioned that there's some really nice concept art in there too!

I'm surpised you guys missed it, but at gamespot.com there is an interview with Ron Gilbert. Along with an excellent written interview there is a "podcast" or audio that goes along with it. It is a great read/listen, he talks about the industry, his current project, and of course Monkey Island. Here is the link. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6153188/index.html?q=ron%20gilbert

(Jake actually posted a link there. The current incarnation of Mojo doesn't make that clear.)
