IGN Insider Interviews the big T 18 Jul, 2002, 12:07 / 4 comments

It seems everyone is crazy (oh the jokes!) for Psychonauts and the man behind the magic, Mr. Tim Schafer. This time, IGN Insider has posted an interview with Mr. Double Fine himself. As always, Schafer has loads of interesting things to say about the state of gaming, innovative game design, the company's relationship with Microsoft, and of course, Jennifer "J-Lo" Lopez! This one's worth the money, folks.

Update (Jake): I'm a big fat liar. The "free trial" they're talking about mysteriously requires that you sign up for at least a month. Then you get a month and a free week! What a ripoff deal!

Yeah, you don't need to pay, you just sign up, then cancel the automatic renewal. That way you don't have to pay.

Uh, what? I hope it doesn't. I just signed up and cancelled. My credit card has not yet been charged, and with any luck, it won't be.

The interview points out a concern about the origins of ideas that I know, for at least one or two FACTS, plagues many artists. Tim Ho!: Why on earth would you be worried about 'stealing' the idea of a world that exists within someone's mind? And from a J-Lo movie, no less? Isn't that a classic literary plot device? It would take a pretty dim critic to accuse any one of copying the idea from 'The Cell'.
