Looks like Jared Emerson-Johnson and his recruits have returned to the studio to beef up the soundtrack for Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space with live instruments and/or new tracks, akin to what was done for the remaster of Sam & Max Save the World. And that’s awesome.

Rebuilding all of that from scratch would have been a huge undertaking and I suspect led to ‘improvements’ that would have detracted from its iconic look and feel. For example the new versions of the Full Throttle cutscenes are impressive but noticeably different.
With that said, AI upscaling techniques have come along tremendously in the last several years, so the original assets could potentially have been given a more in-depth treatment. I’d liked to have seen that.

This makes me happy, because it shows the next remaster is still going ahead. I was worried it would be like so many games, where we naively think the first one is part of a string of releases, the subsequent ones never happening because of low sales or whatever.
Same here, though honestly I was more worried that all the loud cries of a vocal minority awfully concerned with the so-called "censorship" would hurt the chances of another remaster. Glad to know they haven't let the whiners bring them down. I adored the first remaster, it might be my favourite of the Mojo-centric remasters that have come out.
I think my personal favorite remastered edition is DoTT but Save the World is definitely right up there in my top three at least with DoTT and Grim Fandango.
Grim could have been even better if they'd have redrawn the backgrounds. Maybe I'm asking for too much.
But a Brutal Legend or Psychonauts 1 remaster perhaps??
