Happy Easter! 23 Mar, 2008, 21:57 / 16 comments

Have a very pleasant Easter, everyone.

We -- meaning Tingler and I -- got our filthy weasel paws onto a copy of The Incredible Adventures of Lego Indiana Jones and have written up some thoughts for you to see. The game should be pretty good. If you want an idea of what it might be like, go read.

Choosing between the Wii and Xbox 360 versions... Pah! Clearly, PC is superior to consoles in every way. Anyway, the preview was good enough to make me register here, so great job, guys!

Excellent! If we only made one new person register, then all are hard work was worth it.

PC might be superior, but only if you have a gamepad and a big screen and a sofa. Actually, even then you won't get the "fun factor" or the Wii.

To each his own, I guess. There is some sort of masochistic pleasure I get from setting my rig up and wrestling with Windows that is completely absent on consoles. Hell, simply getting a game to run should be an adventure in itself, in my opinion. :)

Try Linux, getting games to run on *that* is an adventure ;)
  • Hümmelgümpf on 24 Mar, 2008, 13:44…
Not really. Wine and DOSBox allow you to run the majority of games with little to no issues.

In my experience you can normally get games up and running, but they tend to need a bit of tweaking here and there.

I don't think I've ever run a game that works perfectly on wine out of the box.

Sure, Wine requires some tweaking, but you made it sound like getting a game to run under Linux is impossible without some 1337 sk1llz that ordinary, non-geek human beings have no hope to learn. :)

haha, yeah I guess I like to exagerate a little :)

So have you neen a lurker for a while or did you just stumble across mojo?

Have been lurking for about a year.

Don't you need to have a super bad arse computer for DOSbox? Magic Carpet ran very slowly for me because my computer couldn't cope with running two Operating Systems at once.

You do need a decent processor. Nothing fancy though, a 50$ single-core CPU is more than enough.

    Hear hear!

Let's just hope that this time, TT Games doesn't fob the PC off with an inferior version of the game, like they did with Lego Star Wars II. There they gave the PC the Xbox version and not the 360 version!

I don't think they will though. For starters, there isn't an Xbox version any more!

They probably (rightly) predicted that families who would be buying the game to play on their PC wouldn't have a rig comparable to a 360. But yeah, from an ideological (and/or hardcore gaming) standpoint, things like that do suck.

Oh, fun. I might actually play this...might. I hope they don't crank out twelve sequels.
  • Udvarnoky on 23 Mar, 2008, 22:09…
A Mojo...preview? Nothing makes sense anymore.
  • The Tingler on 23 Mar, 2008, 22:55…
Yeah, it has been a while...
