I'll give the word to GOG.com as they can explain this much better than me:
We have launched a new developer today--Telltale Games, the finest purveyor of episodic adventure games--and we’re starting off with three fantastic adventures: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, and Tales of Monkey Island. All three games are on a huge "Welcome to GOG" sale for Telltale, and will be 60% off until 3 July.
Like most GOG releases, the games include several extras, like the Sam & Max soundtracks, and developer commentaries.

Hasn't Tales of Monkey Island appeared on a ton of other digital outlets over the past three years? Why is this one a signal? I don't know what kind of agreement Telltale has to make with LEC to put TMI on new platforms or services, but the evidence suggests that they have a whole lot of freedom in that regard.
Well, that might be true, but then again all of those other platforms and services weren't new to LucasArts (not the consoles, not Steam, not the AppStore, etc, etc), yet it's the first time a LucasArts title appears on GOG. I'm not a business expert, but I bet Telltale can't make that deal without LucasArts. No one is going to hold their breath for Lucas to finally release at least part of their classics on GOG, but it's not far fetched at all. Surely the guys at GOG are pushing for it, and while it's clearly not one of LA's priorities, not only it means no real investment for them, it means free money. And I'm sure Paul Meegan loves free money.

Surely the logic in the Lucasarts-connection is that GoG would have had to make a deal with both TTG and LA? The guys over had GoG have been hinting at LucasArts-releases for ages, so perhaps we'll finally start seeing some of those old games over there soon.

It'll be cool if we could get digital versions of the soundtracks and developer commentaries on the Teltale site as well. They did that for Jurassic Park, if I remember correctly. They were also talking about a big redesign for the website some months back, but they seem to have forgotten about that.

The fact that they are releasing ToMI, might be a good omen of LucasArts being in negotiations with GOG.
Yeah, Lucas almost had me convinced that they may be on the verge of successfully removing their collective heads from their collective rears when they put a few games up on Steam. Picked up FoA when they did that, because that game is worth having at my fingertips constantly.
But then they dropped the ball and never did it again. It must have been too much work creating a batch file to launch the game within ScummVM and then be able to sell games that they hadn't made a profit off of in 20 years.

Not following your logic here.
