GTTV teasing something Telltale related The New Orgastic Four 28 Aug, 2010 / 17 comments

GameTrailers TV is teasing something Telltale related today (12:30 EST on SPIKE), and look likely to reveal some "very special guest stars" in the game.

From Geoff Keighley's Twitter feed:

New Telltale Games teaser on tomorrow night's GTTV.....some very special guest stars in this title.

There is speculation on the Telltale Forums that some of the Back to the Future voice talent may have been cast and is going to be revealed, though something related to Sam & Max s03e05 makes more sense.

Update: The teaser has aired, you can view it here.

It is some kind of crossover game, and the teaser features four silhouettes, looking like Max, a Team Fortress Heavy, Strong Bad and Tycho from Penny Arcade.

And they're all holding cards, as can be seen in this full resolution screencapture.

So, this title will be revealed in full at PAX next week.

I realize, hence me referring to their shenanigans. XD

    Ah, fair enough.

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed if it's just a celebrity sequel to Telltale Texas Hold 'Em.

Also, someone pointed out: how are they going to do Tycho? He's never been voiced!

I can't help but wonder, No Guybrush?

I mean, really? Strongbad got picked over Guybrush?
    Why Telltale, why?

Unless it wasn't their call, and Lucasarts is back to its old shenanigans. :/

They don't own Guybrush, LucasArts does, and any cross-merchandising stuff like this would have to be authorised.

Get it? "Bet" you never thought... Yup, "bet" being a key word in the tagline.

Okay, so I have no idea either, but I believe you all are right with it being a Celebrity Poker Tourney game. Brilliant idea.

This ought to be a hoot. I wonder if the four characters from the original game will be back, too? It's weird to think so, but Harry Weinhead, Boris Krinkle, Grandma Shaky and Theodore Dudebrough are technically the only original characters in a non pre-existing license or universe that Telltale has created.

does Puzzle Agent count? or is that strictly a Grickle thing?

While I would love a Texas hold'em 2 with these characters.

Maybe, (hopefully) these aren't the only four characters. I'd be surprised to see Max without Sam in the final game, and Sam's not in this image, so there's probably more we just haven't seen yet. I wouldn't expect them to reveal everything in a teaser image.

Is it me or did it seems like TT was trying to release a new game each month? Probably this "TT Texas Hold'em2" in the next month, then CSI, and between november/december BTTF followed shortly by JP...

Hope those guys have some free week-ends to spend with their family! :D

It's interesting to see there are such good inter-company relations with the people from Penny Arcade and Valve (they also did that Max hat thing for TF2).

Wonder if people are right about the cards referencing to a poker game.

With Tycho in there it's no wonder this is being announced properly at PAX. But what the heck could it be? And what's the Team Fortress 2 Heavy doing in there?!

I wonder what other characters from other franchises will be there. I want to play cards against a raptor.
