LucasArts Games stared me on PC gaming, monkey Island to be precise, i dont want these games to go Console bound, they are meant to be played on a computer, i still dont like Monkey 4, it really sucks and doenst fell like a monkey game, where are the night time islands? and all this cause they wanted to make it more console friendly?, they should have done that with a new franchise, Curse Of MI is still the pinacle of monkey games, Even thou im a console gamer at heart the only thing PC gaming has to offer for me are this adventure games, if i need a first person shooter or something like a plataformer i get the fix on my Gamecube or PS2.

BTW, XBOX does suck, what a freakin ugly BEtamaX.

FT2 only for PC and PS2?
Not possible without lying. In the pressrelease they say "consoles".

I really really want this game on my xbox.

Perhaps if I make a voodoodoll out of someone at lucasarts and poke in the right spots. heee j/k

I'll clearify: The pressrelease talks about "consoles" as in -more than one- console platform. PS2 is listed, so FT2 will be available also on either Xbox or Gamecube, or all three.
    The pressrelease:
"[...] returns in a long awaited action packed sequel for next generation consoles and PC in 2003."

"FT2 only for PC and PS2?"

    - Sorry guys, I've been sitting on this info for about a fortnight, but kept forgetting to mention it. In work, we have this list of upcoming game titles. And, as such, we have a date down for FT2 on the PS2 (and, uh, no, I don't remember what it is. I'll check...), but no listing for the PC (or anything else for that matter). What this means, we can only guess... although, it should be mentioned that our PC list is a joke. They often leave out important tiles! :)

Yeah, I wanted to get this for Xbox too. They seem to only be releasing games for the Xbox that I'd never buy. Well, I did get Jedi Outcast, but I bought the PC version so I could get patches and mods.

I really want to play Bounty Hunter, but there's no Xbox version for that, either.

    thats because...wait for it....

    X-box SUCKS.

    Ok enough Nintendo Fanboyism.

Meh, persoanly I feel all Adventure games should be PC only. I got a feeling if FT2 wasn't for a consol too it'd be more adventure focused.

you can get mods and patches for games on xbox. its called xbox live and downloadable updates. see the xbox has a harddrive unlike the nintendo or playstation.

Hold on... Why not buy a PC if u want updates...?

Console games are complete experiences, good or bad. Why buy a game that is constantly being "improved"...? Ah well...

    Winner.

    Infernal Machine? Guhhh?
  • Entity on 04 Dec, 2002, 14:57…
Grrrrr... Its still vague, Why can't they just give us a yes or no on whether its an Adventure Game along the lines of the first title! :)
  • Jake on 04 Dec, 2002, 18:15…
I think if you're having some debate over whether or not its an "adventure game" you personally will be discovering that it is "not." Though no direct answer has been given it seems pretty obvious that the game is problem-solving and story centered (hence an "adventure game"), but will all be in realtime 3D ala Mario64, Zelda64, Tomb Raider, RTX Red Rock, Every Current Game, and will have action scenes (... making it "not an adventure game" in the eyes of some).

Another assumption one could draw from things like "Ben can pick fights" and "there is bare-knuckled fighting" is that there will be genuine action elements that require realtime gameplaying ability - not Full Throttle 1's "action elements that are really puzzles disguised by fighhting videos or car driving."

If that makes it "not an adventure" then... it's probably not an adventure :) ... I think it is though.

One more massive comment :). I have to wonder if you actually read the article, as theres a large quote from Sean Clark, the game's designer, talking about whether or not its an "adventure game" - "FT2 is an adventure game at its core but we're using action elements as a means to create more immersion. [...] The first game tried to address this desire, but was limited by the technology available at the time. If that leads people to call the newer game a hybrid, or bemoan that it isn't a 'pure adventure,' so be it. Regardless of how you classify it, FT2 will be fun and unique."

    Maybe that answers your question?
  • Entity on 04 Dec, 2002, 21:35…
No I did read that... Its just that when he says that the first game tried to address this desire - He makes it sound like it didn't succeed. :) The adventure comments are reassuring but its his vision of the mixing of action that I'm worried about... but I guess if he's loyal to Full Throttle it should be cool.

I'm not one of those people who bitch about action in adventure games, I'm just wondering the proportion of action in the game. :)
  • Metallus on 04 Dec, 2002, 15:14…
Oh, you mean like an Action Adventure? I was hoping it would be a shooter, personally. Either that or a racing game.
  • Entity on 04 Dec, 2002, 15:24…
A different genre doesn't make the game instantly bad... I just want to know! :)

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is a great game and its not adventure.
