Double Fine almost closed down, once 15 Oct, 2009, 05:32 / 11 comments

Check out this interview Playboy did with "Schafes", I guess as a push from "Hef", about the Making of Brutal Legend. I can't tell you if it's spoilerish or not, because I didn't read the whole thing in fear of spoilers. Yes, I haven't played yet. The shame is killing me. (On the other hand, I did buy it! Twice!).

There's also a very spoilerish section on how Ophelia came to life.

Last, but not least: You can play against Tim Schafer himself in Brutal Legend. Add him as a friend on PSN or XBLA, but make sure you have the game first (he won't accept your friend request without you having a copy). He's TimOfLegend.

Update: Here's Tim's (for the extreme among you, sort of spoilerish) response for those bemoaning that Brutal Legend is an RTS: It isn't.

Crap, this seems like something I don't want appearing on my work history...

We can conclude he already has a demo for his next game then, no?

    ...Is it 2011/2012 all ready?

Oh, and I believe this is the link you're looking for: http://www.doublefine.com/news/comments/battle_time/

:) I'm sorry, I just noticed that. I fixed it pretty fast - damn ctrl + c - but thanks for pointing it out, Icebox!

    To The Time Machine!

Better get your friend add in quickly then, I dunno about PSN but XBLA only allows for a total of 100 friends in your friends list :P

And this probably means that us Europeans have no chance whatsoever getting on his friends list because of our later release date.

    This is... sad.

Well, you can get the achievement by playing against someone else who has played against Tim. He doesn't need to actually be on your friend list for you to play against him, either.

Frankly I wouldn't expect to run into him online anyway.

Yeah, I kinda figured that was the case but still... It's not about the achievements. Call me a creepy stalker but it would be pretty awesome to have the master of awesome on my friend list.

Oh no, I agree with that. I'm too cynical though - I can't imagine Tim playing it online ALL the time, so I'm sure it's not his personal account. If he's on voice-chat I guess that'll prove me wrong, but if not I wouldn't be surprised if it's just any one of several Double Fine employees (Tim included, though.)
