Double Fine Adventure continues to break records. Today the upcoming adventure game sauntered past $2 million mark without breaking a sweat.
It seems the update posted by Double Fine announcing platforms (PC, Mac, Linux - all DRM free) and languages (English Voice Overs, with French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitles) did a great job reigniting the previously slowing donations.
Many people had begun speculating if it was possible for the $2 million mark within the time limit, but it now seems that it's anyone's guess what the final figure will be. With 22 days to go, who can tell?
What's YOUR guess?

It's a bit rough and ready but should do the job.
Anyway, if you're waiting to get paid, DON'T. I've seen this a lot which means a lot of people probably ARE waiting, but there's no point! The money doesn't get taken until the end of the funding period!

You're forgetting those of us who have to get next month's paycheck before donating... There should be a new influx of money at the end/start of the month...
Yeah! go new money! And let's not forget about the rich adventure gamers, who as any rich adventure gamer knows, they take a cruise each February to search for Monkey Island (and its secret). So when they come back, be ready to see some serious money rolling in.
Though I'm sure insanity's the order of the day at the studio right now, considering how overwhelming this has all been. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't actually start the pre-pre production process until the craziness has subsided, a touch.

Heh, Lagomorph, that's exactly what I said when they broke $1.5 and everything slowed down. $2 million seemed out of reach... but they've done it with ease. Time will tell!
SOME WORKING:
I'm not sure many people doubted the 2 million, more they were doubting it going far past that. And with reason. It has taken 10 times as long to get the second million to get the first. If that trend continues, it would take them 100 days to get to 3 million. They have 22, which is just over 1/5 of that time, so you might be tempted to predict 2.2 million. But remember that most of the money would be made early on in the 100 days, if we follow the trend. So predicting it at around 2.5 doesn't seem too unreasonable.
I guess the ball is well and truly in DF's court now. I'd like to see a $50 and $150 tier added and some of the suggestions (mugs, art books, CD soundtracks) would certainly be enticing...
I guess the other thing really holding this back is that there are a number of people that cannot use Amazon Payments, though unfortunately that;s not something DF can fix. I guess that just means that there'll be a bunch of people that'll be picking up the game once it's released.
