Day of the Tentacle: (one of the) Best Ever 18 May, 2004 / Comments: 11

Gamespot has recently added Day of the Tentacle to their list of Greatest Games of All Time. They love it.
LucasArts pioneered a brand of adventure game in which you could never die--you would just get stuck for a while if you couldn't figure out a puzzle--and Day of the Tentacle is a perfect example of this carefree, frustration-free style of gaming. This is a genuine classic--very few games have matched or exceeded the quality of Day of the Tentacle's production.
Check out the whole writeup as well as some cutscenes and other screenshot type goodies here. They also included Grim in the Best Evar list a few weeks back.

I have to say it (and forgive my linguistical madness): Idle Thumbs is a good gaming site, a fresh, intelligent manner to treat the complex commercial-driven landscape of modern gaming industry; but, for me, there are no games like adventures, and no adventures like the good ol' (and, c'mon, even new) lucasarts ones.
Long life Mixnmojo! You still are my favourite, and you will always be, even if nowaday Lucasarts really DOES SUCK, and even if your news page will keep on being just a nostalgic, melanchonic sight for people who refuse to accept the sadness of some "current market place realities and underlying economic considerations".

Nobody's going to deny that! Thats why it would be moronic to close Mojo.

Another sad opinion : this proves the best of gaming is behind us.
OH this makes me want to play it again, I want to go back to the mansion, anyone knows where i could find a suitable copy of the game nowadays ? Even Full Throttle ?
