Cyrus writes: “Although Toonstruck is not a LucasArts game, I feel it deserves coverage on Mixnmojo because... this is really important news. Keith Arem, one of the developers of Toonstruck who currently owns the rights to it, is planning to release the full version of Toonstruck which would include the unreleased second part, known as Toonstruck 2. But since the game was a commercial failure, he needs "tremendous fan support" to justify its release and raise funding.”

Yes, that's the link, but the meter still stands at 190$, Ocki & I donated after that and the meter didn't budge at all. Is someone trying to throw sand into our eyes here, or what?

    Petition is signed!

Hopefully this will be successful and in the end Toonstruck 2 would see the light of the day in services like Steam, GoG, D2D etc.

    @ ocki & VoodooFX:

Where and to whom did you donate? There is no group or individual set up to receive donations for Toonstruck 2 that I'm aware of, although a future Kickstart project is an interesting idea.

Looks like Destructoid are backing it up as they have it on their site and so does Rock Paper Shotgun. I've heard Eurogamer maybe doing an article on it too as they did a retrospective on Toonstruck a few weeks ago.

    Eh, Toonstruck.

Hahaha, pretty much my opinion there. I remember being pretty iffy on this game even when I was a kid-- the humor was all a bit too childish even for a child, and yet the game occasionally got too adult to seem to be for such a young audience.

Also, I remember the first half of the game just being one long, meandering item hunt. Yech.

I'm hoping this gets off the ground as I never got to play Toonstuck or been able to get my hands on a copy of it. From everything I've heard it seems like a lovely game, signed the petition and got a couple friends to sign too.

How much would it cost, I wonder? I've seen one-person adventure game projects earn well over $10,000 on Kickstarter, and I imagine reviving something bigger and more well known like Toonstruck would fare far better.it depends though. If he thinks he can do it for $50-60k, some sort of crowd funding might pull it off. If he thinks he needs hundreds of thousands, or millions, something like kickstarter is probably out of the question (also, so would be funding the game, I suspect).

Goal of 50.000 signatures is a bit unrealistic IMHO. Yet I hope this gets off the ground, I loved first Toonstruck. I even donated 10$ for the cause, although the meter didn't register it.

I thought that too, I'm wondering if its a mistake, 5,000 would seem better.

Toonstruck was one of my favourite games when I was younger. It has a unique style that no other adventure game had at the time, and the humour was brilliant, dry and witty.

I still have my boxed copy at home somewhere. It's an absolute pain to get running on modern computers, even with Dosbox.

petition signed, I hope more sites will help give the attention to this, Toonstruck rightfully deserves a re-release among the greats especially since the 2nd half of the game was cut because at the time Virgin thought it was the "right" thing to do as a business standpoint, pfft!!!
