A Vampyre Story trailer! 21 Sep, 2007, 14:04 / 23 comments

Posted on the new official web site is the two-minute trailer for the game that was shown at the Games Convention in Leipzig. It is the first available footage of the game ever, as far as I know, and it makes quite an impression.

Your thoughts?

Update: You should all be aware that acclaimed Mojo reader Haggis has recently launched his own Autumn Moon fan blog, which you should visit regularly!

Pretty damn good! The animation's a little unpolished, as is the voice acting, but I think we're looking at a superb game here. Looking forward to it! (like I wasn't before...)

Awesome. Really, really good. I'm even more excited about this game now!

I hate it when files are zipped for absolutely no reason. The zip is 22.4 MB. The extracted wmv file is 22.5 MB.

The 2 seconds gained in the 100k smaller download is totally lost when having to unzip the file to view.

    Oh, yeah, great trailer.

Can someone put this on YouTube? It will take forever for me to download this from work :~

    I'll just reply to myself:

Haha - that looks great. The quality in the 3D is brilliant. Can't wait to play this.

The trailer actually made me want to play the game NOW! wow, I never thought that it would turn out to be this great! I loved the voice acting and the animation. Well done Autumn Moon!

Hey I really like Mona's voice, it reminds me of Aristocats.

This game is like Santa and the Easter Bunny: It doesn't exist.

Oh yeah. The animation was great. I felt the voice acting was poorly done though, especially the monsignor. What was that, half bad scottish and half bad romanian?
  • Gabez on 21 Sep, 2007, 22:02…
They probably didn't want to make it too Scottish, in case it scared people. I think that was the case with Mona's French accent. I liked the voice acting, especially Mona's. It's not up to LucasArts standards, but it is good.

I liked most of the voice acting, except the narrator. But he might not be in the game at all ;)
  • Udvarnoky on 22 Sep, 2007, 13:48…
I'm pretty sure the narrator was just a Crimson Cow guy.

I thought the actual character voices were great.

Perhaps my expectations were too high .. but to my ears the monsignor simply sounded like an american trying to fake an accent. The other guy was good .. althoug mixing his american accent with that of the scottish monsignor was to my mind a weird choice, surely they would come from the same place.

Either way .. I'm sure it will sound better in context. Can't wait for the game.

Yes, yes, excellent, brilliant, whatever. ENOUGH! RELEASE IT NOW! Grrrr

(on a lighter note: anyone notice the LeChuck theme tune reference at the ending tunes of the trailer?)
  • LGH on 22 Sep, 2007, 13:47…
Yep, definitely LeChuck-inspired. And pretty catchy ;)
  • neon_git on 21 Sep, 2007, 16:11…
It looks gorgeous, but I thought the humour fell a little flat. Still early days yet and I'm much more excited about the game now than I was before.

Looks great.. Much better than I had expected to be honest.
  • Haggis on 21 Sep, 2007, 14:18…
It looks really great. Game of the year material! Well, IMHO. :)
  • Haggis on 21 Sep, 2007, 16:06…
Also, thanks for posting about the blog. =)

Lookin' good! I like how the Monsignor turned out in the 3D translation. (Concept art here). The good animation is everything.
