A Tim Schafer Game 24 Jun, 2009 / Comments: 16

Want to see the final Brütal Legend cover art in hi-res? Then you'll want to be heading over to Kotaku.

Quite brütal, if I may be so bold. Let's just hope that Double Fine's second consecutive lack of explosions doesn't hurt them again.

    OK, maybe this:

That actually does look a lot better. Good effort.

    Initial feelings:
    Brutal!

The "A Tim Schafer Game" credit is in a weird place... Wouldn't it be better below the title?

The title should be bigger (= more brutal!).

    I hope it's embossed :)

It looks a bit 'rhythm game' to me, to be honest. Slightly underwhelmed.

Needs moar explosions, and real axe in front and guitar axe in back to temper the guitar band rock hero vibe.

    Possibly.

I think that vibe is probably exactly what they're after. Like it or not, Brutal Legend is going to be piggybacking the success of games like those in order to hit the mainstream market.

Is it too late for them to add a mode where you play using a guitar controller? Not a rhythm mini-game, but for controlling the character and stuff. 'Cause that would rock my face off.

    Face. Off.

Excellence. Fingers crossed for a huge best-seller.

Oh man, why isn't there an explosion!? When I saw the content of Brutal Legend in that Game Informer article a hundred years ago, I thought to myself, "Thank god, another Tim Schafer game with an explosion on the box."

What happened!? (The box looks nice, though.)
  • elTee on 24 Jun, 2009, 00:20…
Looks like it should appeal to the "who's Tim Schafer?" gamers.

I'd wonder why Jack Black's name isn't on there, but I suppose this isn't "final" final.
  • ThunderPeel2001 on 24 Jun, 2009, 12:35…
Or Black's contract doesn't allow them to try and sell the game using his name? I don't think I've ever seen a celeb's voice credited in order to sell something, come to think of it?

    Maybe Bruce Willis

    Maybe Bruce Willis what?

Why must you always question everything? :P

    Lol!
