Matt Shaw, founder of ShowArts, has created a 'prelude' and a demo on this adventure. The prelude of 19/10/1999, is called 'A view of Things to Come', and it was a mini-presentation of the ideas that the author was going to continue to this fangame. In fact in the ScurvyLiver web-site (the creator of 'Fate of Monkey Island') there is a review on this game where show an image that does not appears on this demo! It was part of ongoing implementation, since the ShawArts had publicized the fact that the work had now reached 30%. What happened then? Well, LucasArts decided to make 'war' to fangames marked by its characters, claiming his copyright, and sent a series of cease and desist letters! This game, that wanted to explain the bonds of 'kinship' between Guybrush and LeChuck in Monkey Island 2 surprisingly turned out, was one of the victims of these letters. Matt Shaw has not only abandoned this game (and the other in his production: "Monkey Island: Episode IV"), but has also changed his nickname (from that moment it was presented as "Narrative").
